Hail satan?
I had to pull out the pentacle shirt one last time before school starts. I walked past a group of teenagers and I heard one of them mutter "hail satan!" I don't know if I was supposed to hear it, but I found it hilarious.
And then I took this photo with the phone that Laura got from antique shop and went to town on picnik. Will you still love me even though I make terribly edited photos? ;)
Stay tuned for the most bomb-ass back to school outfit the world has ever seen!

California Dreamin'
Thrifted sweater, necklaces, and shorts(diy cutoffs), forever 21 headband
I love this sweater. It's a perfect transition piece for between seasons, and it's perfect for putting together a lazy but cute ensemble. I feel so california quasi-hippie in this outfit!

I made a thing
Thrifted nightie (worn as top), thrifted diy vest, Mikkat Market shorts, Dr. Martens boots
I sewed part of an old lady pillowcase onto the back of my vest. I think it worked out pretty well!

Giraffes all around
Today I went to the state fair. For those of you who don't live in Minnesota, our state fair is a huge deal. Every food imaginable is fried and jammed on a stick, and there are shopping opportunities abounding. There are lots of other things to do too, but those two are the most important.
There are no real circus freaks, but there are excellent signs to pose in front of.
Dressing for the fair is an art. You need something light and unintrusive. This simple outfit would fit the bill while still providing enough of a color explosion to keep things interesting.
Forever 21 top, thrifted diy skirt, thrifted sunglasses, necklace of mysterious origin
This skirt used to be an enormous muumuu until I cut it up into a miniskirt. And look! Giraffes!
That in my hand is called a White Razzie Puppy. It's a fudge puppy (chocolate covered belgian waffle on a stick, for those uninitiated to the cult of fair food) with white chocolate in the batter and whipped cream and rasberry syrup on the top. Heavenly.
This picture of Dolly Parton was up on a wall at the fair. I love Dolly and I thought this picture was so great, I had to get a photo and put it on the blog.
I hope you're all enjoying the last fleeting moments of summer!

Bettie
Thirfted everything
I put together a kind of rockabilly-looking outfit yesterday, so I thought I'd try curling my fringe under Bettie Page style. It's not the most flattering look for me, but I love it with this outfit anyway. I love to experiment with my hair!
P.S. I promise I'll stop posting my creepers all the time. I just had to wear them with this outfit!

F yeah turband
Forever 21 dress, necklace, and shoes, thrifted scarf
Dude look at me I am so artsy.
I like the last picture. It's kind of a cliche facebook-y photo, but I like the way my eyes look so just let me have this one.

Keep my love alive
Here's what's tickling my musical fancy right now.

Velvet
I really like the simplicity of this outfit. Sometimes a girl needs to wear a little black dress and some simple accessories. I also like the awkward fit of the dress and the clunky shoes. The whole ensemble makes me want to pose like a sulky teenager on tumblr. Also, we're starting to get strawberries from our strawberry plant! It's so exciting!

Suck it, Coco
I believe Coco Chanel once said that you should take off two accessories before leaving the house. To that, I say, "suck it, Coco, I'm wearing my rocketship, my puma, and my lightning heart all at once."
Is this not the greatest furniture? I want some banana yellow chairs in my room now.
I post these way to often. Oh well, I still haven't gotten over them.
L.L. Bean shirt (stolen from my mom), thrifted rocketship and lightning heart, Forever 21 puma, Target shorts and socks, thrifted creepers, homemade earrings
I posted this picture before, but I really like it and thought it goes with this post. I should probably change the name of this blog to "pictures of cats and creepers and some other stuff too I guess." This little guy is a stray who lives around the cottage where we were staying. Everyone calls him Tiger, but Laura and I named him Tom Bombadil after the Lord of the Rings character. He's a cuddly little fellow (the cat, not the character).

French Lick photo diary
So for the last few days, I've been at my family reunion in a town called French Lick, Indiana. It's famous for two things: basketball player Larry Bird, and a natural laxative called Pluto Water. There are references to it everywhere! The mascot is a devil-looking man, and their slogan is "if nature won't, Pluto will!" It's rather hilarious. There are also antique shops everywhere full to the brim with crap. I wish I had gotten pictures of some, but I left my camera at the inn while we were shopping.
Here are some photos of my time in Indiana. I'm not the greatest photographer, but I did what I could! Some of these are of the beautiful inn we stayed at, some are of Laura and me, and a whole bunch are of the cat Tom Bombadil.
We ran into a plethora of strange beverages in Indiana. The green color of the Hogwash worries me.
Laura got the best coloring book ever.
My bored car doodle.
I'm in a hotel in Galesburg, Illinois as I write this. I can't wait to get back to the city and see my friends before I have to go back to school.
