Flouncy
On me: Erin Fetherston for target shirt, thrifted skirt, target socks (borrowed from Laura), forever 21 shoes, ragstock bowtie (worn on head).
On Laura: Thrifted dress, target tights, found shoes and bandana.
Laura and I went out to a base ball field by our house to take some pictures with a back-to-school kind of feel. I wore this outfit with a schoolgirl-meets-lolita-meets-goth vibe. It's not how I usually dress, but it was fun to play with. I definitely need more knee socks. Laura's dress was an amazing thrift find. It has little strawberries all over it! The figure skater shape is also really great. We ended up matching pretty well!

Americana
One more premade post and then you guys can experience the wonder that is French Lick, Indiana!
Lately I've been super inspired by American flag motifs and other all-American fashion things (as they say).
One of my favorite of Gaga's looks.
Gorgeous Stella Rose of Confessions of a Female Drag Queen.
Some stylish ladies from Chictopia. I absolutely need that shirt from the middle. If I can find the materials at a thrift store, I'll definitely do a diy version.
After seeing these lovely pictures, I remembered that I myself have some Americana clothing! I decided to play dress up and take some pictures.
How amazing is this sweater?! I got it for 25 cents at a yard sale as a joke, but it kind of grew on me and I came to love it. And as a bonus, it looks fabulous with my creepers.
My favorite bandana, thrifted from Savers. Clashes beautifully with the sweater.
I went a little crazy with the poses. A model I am not.
Here's the makeup I did. I really like the beauty spot! I may have to actually wear it in public someday. Unfortunately, this outfit is extremely impractical and I didn't wear it for more that 15 minutes in my backyard. The sweater is really hot. Maybe I'll wear this outfit in the winter, only with pants.
Laura also decided to dress up.
She totally made that shirt! It's actually a giant sash/scarf thing that she wraps around herself in a shirt shape. Pretty sweet, amirite?
She made this too! Whaa?
These are my shoes, but I don't wear them much anymore. They look great on her.
Toodle-oo!

Shoulder pads from hell
I don't usually look this homicidal, I swear.
I am so in love with these tights. And shorts. And top, with its lacy yoke collar and linebacker shoulder pads. This outfit is basically a conglomeration of my favorite things. Also, these pictures provide a nice view of the dying peony bushes that inhabit my backyard.
I wore this outfit yesterday while hanging out with my friend Zoë of Sleepless Ukulele Girl. We spent many an hour ukuleling and watching youtube vids of talented ukers. It was great fun!
And look at what Laura was wearing yesterday! She looked so marvelous I had to get some pictures:
You read that right, she made the skirt herself! That girl is a print-mixer after my own heart. Stripes, floral, and leopard print are the holy trinity of print mixing. I think I'm a bad influence on her. Soon she'll be looking as ridiculous as I do.

Patriotism at its Finest
Laura, my sister, has fabulous style but prefers not to have her own style blog. She likes to do a photo shoot every once in a while, though, and I'm happy to post the results! Here's what she wore to the Java Train one day.
This outfit would work well for the fourth of July. It's patriotic, yet subtle. And how perfect is that hat? I love it.
Just as a heads up, I'll be out of town for the next two weeks with no access to a computer. But don't fret, I have some scheduled posts ready for you guys!
Happy fourth, everyone!
